The mission of Roadmap 2050 project is to provide a practical, independent and objective analysis of pathways to achieve a low-carbon economy in Europe, in line with the energy security, environmental and economic goals of the European Union. The Roadmap 2050 project is an initiative of the European Climate Foundation (ECF) and has been developed by a consortium of experts funded by the ECF.

The Roadmap 2050 project is an initiative of the European Climate Foundation (ECF) in cooperation with a consortium of experts funded by the ECF and has developed over the years in different phases. In addition, ECF involved a wide range of companies, consultancy firms, research centres and NGOs that have provided various forms of assistance during the different phases of ECF's Roadmap 2050 project. Their willingness to consult and to be consulted in the course of the years has ensured the credibility, objectivity and quality of the different outputs throughout the project. The ECF is solely responsible for the content and will act as a guardian of the content. All materials are available on this dedicated website and can be freely used to advance discussion on decarbonisation of the power sector and the broader economy in Europe.
